An Upgrade to the Typecast Beta

Gosh what a busy year it's been. It began with ideas about our own design process and has ended with a tool that's starting to capture the imagination of designers everywhere.

We wanted to thank all of you who signed up for our original beta during the summer/autumn. We are extremely grateful. Thanks to your interest, candid and constructive feedback, and support, we were able to make some significant improvements.

It's not yet perfect, but we're finally ready to show you what you helped produce.

Accessing the Beta

Because the new version of Typecast is such a big step forward, we need you to create a new account at:

http://beta.typecastapp.com/let-me-in/earlybird

The new beta lets you:

  • Use fonts from Typekit, Fonts.com, Fontdeck and Google
  • Type content right onto the canvas
  • Automagically create a style guide
  • Publish your styles as a hosted CSS file
  • Create multiple projects and share those with your team

Our new address

We've moved the new version of Typecast to use beta.typecastapp.com which means you’ll no longer be able to use your old accounts at www.typecastapp.com. We'll be retiring the www site on Friday 23rd December so be sure to keep a copy of any projects you've been working on before then.

2012 is shaping up to be an exciting year for web design, and we at Typecast are pleased to be a part of that.  As always, we'd love to hear your feedback. You can leave comments directly in the app, and on Twitter at @typecastapp.

Best Wishes,
The Typecast team
